Can my frame support any video formats?
Any frames that have a USB port can support video. Specifically, the NIX series and Nixplay Advance are the most ideal product lines for the job. Do note, that there would be a difference in video quality, between SD and HD formats depending on the release.
HD models include,.... which is top of the line with capability for 1080 resolution. All other models are listed as SD.
Kindly note, the Nixplay Iris and Nixplay Lux frames do not have video streaming or playback capabilities.
Can I play photos and videos at the same time, i.e. in one playlist?
Yes, it is possible to do on most Nixplay frames that support video formats (as noted above). However,
For NIX Advance Series Digital Photo frames, (X08E, X10G, X12D and X15D,) you will be able to play both photos and videos at the same time:
Firstly, make sure that your frame enables the playing of both photos and videos by going to: Settings > General > Autoplay > Photo and Video
Once this is enabled, to play all videos: Play > Play all Media.
I have filmed and edited a video but my Nixplay frame is making it distorted. What is causing this to happen and how could I fix it?
Any standard video taken on a smartphone can be supported. If your frame is experiencing issues with this, it may be because you edited and/ or played around with the settings of the actual video.
The issue stems from the increased variety of compression rates become available, with people taking videos from the likes of youtube, or re-editing them, or converting HD to Standard, our frames simply can't adapt to all these variations. This means that for the HD video to play on our Standard Definition Frame, you will lose quality and be faced with sync problems. The chipset of the frame doesn't technically support HD. Note: For older NIX frame models (NIX Pro Series, NIX X08D, X12A, X12B, X12C, X15A, X15B, X15C, X18A, X18B.), it is only possible to play photos and videos at the same time.
