Nixplay Frames require a constant 2.4GHz (also known as 802.11 b/g/n) WiFi connection in order to operate.
The 2.4GHz standard is supported by 99% of home networks. Although the 5GHz (802.11 ac) frequency band is faster, Nixplay Frames use the 2.4GHz band because it:
- is supported by almost all residential routers
- consumes less power
- penetrates obstructions
- extends over a broader range
All of these benefits ensure that our frames operate more reliably in a variety of different environments and locations.
