Here are a few known issues that cause a USB to not be recognized by the frame:
- Power Consumption of the USB device: some external hard drives that connect via USB may require a greater power source than the frame is able to support.
- USB version: Our Digital Photo Frames are compatible with USB 2.0 and older. Notably USB 3.0 USB drives are backwards compatible to USB 2.0 and will operate in USB 2.0 mode on our frames.
- Incompatible files: It’s worth checking that there are no incompatible files on the USB device causing the frame’s processor to work on trying to process them unnecessarily. For example, If you are a Mac user, sometimes during transfer a Mac OS will add hidden driver files that can cause issues. Please completely check the contents of the USB to ensure only photos and videos are contained on the drive.
- Debris in the USB port: Ensure that the USB the port is clear of any debris.
Failing the above, try to use another USB Drive. If the problem persists, please contact our Customer Support team.
