Why are some photos not playing on my NIX Advance Frame?
About this Aspect:
The NIX Models X10G, X12D, and X15D Advance Series of NIX Digital Frames will play Standard JPEG files. These new frames have been specifically designed for displaying photos from the latest high spec sources, such as SLR cameras and for photographers utilizing the latest tools for photography like Adobe’s LightRoom.
Sometimes JPEG files are optimized for printers and Web use which have then been altered to be non-Standard formats of JPEG. One of these formats is Progressive, optimized for the Web, and you may see a black or blank photo on your frame due to this issue. Some online social media sites, like FaceBook, operate on the Web and then alter your photos to Progressive when downloaded from those sites.
There is a quick solution for the issue using a few quick steps to have your files back to the Standard JPEG format.
For a PC, Utilizing FastStone, http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm
(For Mac Users please use iPhoto or Apple Photo tool to load and save the file in Standard JPEG format.)
NOTE: Making a backup of your photos is always advised.
Once FastStone is installed and running, click the Batch Convert tab and click the … button to Select a folder where your files are located.
Next you will need Select the photos and “Add” the photos to be processed on the right panel.
Click the Settings button below the list and ensure that the Progressive Setting is NOT checked. Click OK.
Click Browse and select a folder for the new files to be placed.
Uncheck the items in the Red box below as they are not needed for this process.
Click Convert. (Since we are not doing many things to the photos the process will occur rapidly.)
Your new photos are in the folder you picked in Step 4.
Copy them to your USB or SD Card for the frame.
