Nixplay Cloud Storage
Each Nixplay customer has 10 GB of free Cloud Storage for your photo and media. Additional storage can be upgraded with a subscription plan.
The Cloud Storage is used to store all the original photo and media content uploaded by you. Should you ever lose the frame, your files are safely stored on the Cloud.
You can check the status of your used/available Cloud Storage space at www.nixplay.com after logging in. Go to Account -> Subscriptions > "Storage Space"
Frame local storage
We also have local storage on the frame that is used to store photos downloaded from Nixplay Cloud. This way, your frame can continue to display photos without a network connection.
Also, Nixplay compresses and resizes each image to best fit the frame model you have. For example, a 10MB original image stored on Nixplay Cloud might results in a 300KB image on the frame after processing. This reduces network bandwidth usage and local storage on the frame.
Therefore a frame that has 2GB of free local storage is more than enough to hold all photos from the 10GB Nixplay Cloud Storage because the frame holds compressed optimized image whereas the Cloud holds the original full-size image.
Keep in mind the local storage act as a 'cache' for the photos in Nixplay Cloud. So even if you reset or replace your frame, it can download the same photos from the Cloud.
You can check the frame local storage usage using the remote control. On the Frame, go to Settings > Information > Storage. In the Mobile app, go to My Frames > Click on a frame > below the name of the frame there will be "x% Used x of x GB".
